- July 7-12, 2024: Special Workshop at the Soongsil University in Seoul, entitled “Virtues and Vices for the Rule of Law”. During the week of 7-12 July 2024, the biennial IVR World Congress of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy entitled “The Rule of Law, Justice and the Future of Democracy” was held at Soongsil University in Seoul. As part of this event, on the initiative of Professors Isabel Trujillo, Amalia Amaya and Lucia Corso, a Special Workshop entitled “Virtues and Vices for the Rule of Law” was organised, involving many scholars from worldwide. - April 16, 2024: Thanks Dr. Roberto Luppi for the talk entitled Individuo, virtù e il giudice come esempio. He gave a talk for students at the Department of Law of the University of Palermo. Starting by the role of virtues in John Rawls, his talk promoted an ideal figure of the judge as virtuous model par excellence.
- March 20-21-22, 2024: First workshop in Bari. During these three days were discussed three different topics regarding the Rule of law. On March 20, Benjamin Rivaya Garcia (Universidad de Oviedo), Juan Ramon Ferreiro Galguera (Universidad de Oviedo), Guglielmo Siniscalschi (Università di Bari) and Stella Laforgia gave different talks regarding Rule of law, virtue and cinema; on March 21, Carlos Rosenkrantz (Universidad de Buenos Aires and Vice-President of the Argentina Supreme Court), Andrés Rosler (Universidad de Buenos Aires), Renato Rabbi Baldi Cabanillas (Universidad de Buenos Aires and Juez de la Cámara Federal de Apelaciones de Salta) discussed some issues regarding the Rule of law and legal virtues concerning the figures of the judge and the lawyer; on March 22, the theme on human rights and judicial virtues between conservative constraints and migratory pressures was discussed by Carlos Rosenkrantz (Universidad de Buenos Aires and Vice-President of the Argentina Supreme Court), Roberto Rossi (Public Prosecutor in Bari), Renato Rabbi Renato Cabanillas (Universidad de Buenos Aires and Juez de la Cámara Federal de Apelaciones de Salta) and Enrico Scoditti (Corte di Cassazione). With the attendance of Prof. Andrea Lovato, Prof. Michele Mangini, Prof. Luca Maria Scarantino, Francesca La Malfa, Salvatore D’Aluiso, Antonella Cafagna.

- March 7, 2024: on the occasion of Women’s Day, Prof. Trujillo gave a talk discussing the role of women in the context of Rule of law. The event took place at the University of Enna, within the project Progetto interdipartimentale KORE GEMS – Gender Equality Meetings and Seminars. Prof. Lucia Corso was the Chair of the event, entitled Donne e discorso pubblico in tempo di crisi. Prof. Alessia Gabriele, Prof. Salvatore Cardinale and Prof. Antonella Scaravilli attended the discussion as well. [link to the event]
- February 2024: Prof. Isabel Trujillo was invited to Bern for the meeting with the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). The meeting also involved other Professors from the University of Palermo: Prof. Beatrice Pasciuta, Vice Chancellor for Inclusion, Equal Opportunity and Gender Policy at the University of Palermo, Prof. Laura Lorello and Prof. Elisa Cavasino (both Full Professors of Constitutional Law). The meeting took place at the World Trade Institute as part of the preparatory work for the drafting of the new recommendation to States Parties on the inclusion of women in decision-making processes at the national and international level. On this occasion Prof. Trujillo gave a talk entitled Rule of law, rule of men, and rule of women. Reforming power and decision-making processes.
